Watch out for David Cook, Alexandra Burke, Kelly Clarkson to make splashes in the music industry.
Look out for Platinum-artist David Cook on A-list events. Also, he will probably give back to the hand that gave him the door to stardom by going back to American Idol this year..so watch out for that.
Alexandra Burke won X-Factor late 2008 in the United Kingdom and we will see whether Simon Cowell can make this girl the next Leona Lewis (in terms of success) and the next soulful star (in terms of music). Simon Cowell usually copies whatever Simon Fuller (creator of the Idol franchise and CEO of 19 Entertainment) – the original genius does..so don’t be surprised if Cowell copies a few of Fuller’s tactics. But I LOVE Alexandra Burke – so I hope Cowell doesn’t make a mistake. It is rumoured that her debut album will be released in March.
Another musician to look for is the Idol Prodigy, Kelly Clarkson. She is going back to her pop roots by releasing her new single from her fourth album called “My Life Would Suck Without You” to be released mid-January and her album dropping mid-March. I hope both Clarkson and Cook will go back to the Idol stage to perform..(and hopefully release a duet!!!
)
Bands to look for include U2, Green Day (I wish they had stayed with Rob Cavallo).
Talking about Rob Cavallo – he has proved that he is a prodigy, being able to produce bands like Green Day, Dave Matthews but also a debut musician like David Cook. Cook’s debut album has now sold 850,000+ as of this week – a great achievement in this economic nightmare.
Those names are at the top of my list this year, who and what are your anticipated acts of 2009? Tell me who you’re excited for in the comments section!
